The April Newsletter for the Parkway Library was created with the Narrable website & app. The image was created with the ABCYa! Word Cloud generator.
CHECKOUTsThe goal of the library media center is to offer a wide range of reading material, at various reading levels, to our students and to create life-long learners.
Students are encouraged to checkout materials that are of interest to them and that are at the right reading level for them. Younger students select materials that they can read themselves or that they can read at home with a family member. If students have books overdue, they will not be able to checkout new books until the others are returned. During library time, they will have books available to read while their classmates are selecting new books for checkout. Grade 3 = 2 books for 2 weeks. Grade 2 = 2 books for 1 week. Grade 1 = 2 books for 1 week. K4 & K5 = 1 book for 1 week. NOTE: Grades 1 - 3 are asked to checkout one "just right" chapter book (i.e. meaning they can read it themselves) and the second book is a free choice book. |
